Mentor’s academic background: Neuroscience and South Asian studies at Harvard University. My main extracurricular activities in high school that helped with my college applications involved volunteering and athletics. I was my high school’s National Honor Society’s president, helping to brainstorm and organize various and volunteering opportunities within the local community. I was also captain of the high school cross country and track and field teams and was a state champion in XC. In college, I work as a Research Intern for the Integrated Brain Health Clinical Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, where I am working on publishing a paper in a scientific research journal as a first author. I also worked as a Research Assistant within the Hoffman Vestibular Neuroscience Laboratory at UCLA, earning a first-place award after presenting my research at the Brain Research Institute Undergraduate Summer Research Poster Fair. In terms of high school awards, I was a National Hispanic Recognition Program Finalist, as well as a National Merit Scholarship recipient
